Build Your Own is an online car configuration created for Jaguar and Land Rover. The potential car owner can build up a custom made design, with ability of changing not only exteriors but interiors while the build can be admired from all angles and be revisited any time. If satisfied, one can send the design to Land Rover/Jaguar or share it with friends. The goal is that one can build its very own car, that perfectly aligns with a specific lifestyle and create the Land Rover or Jaguar that’s the perfect fit with personal tastes. One also has the ability to compare between multiple builds, in order to find the best option both as price and configuration.
The project was a high priority and was run using the agile methodology instead of the waterfall we used in other instances. The team would have weekly sprints, where I was responsible for updating the design with new UI elements and content to mimic the upgraded UX. When necessary I would be in charge to design new icons for newly introduced features. In order to provide transparency across teamwork and visibility into the status of every work item the team would use google drive. The client would visit the agency on a regular basis to discuss the progress of the project with the team. At the time when I arrived at the agency the project was already ongoing and that was still the case after I left Spark44. It was a great opportunity to experience a new way of project management and it was a pleasure to be able to have a contribution to this complex yet wonderful project.
